Osprey’s Of Gods and Mortals available for preorder

Posted: 15th May 2013 by ganeshagames in OGAM

I set up a preorder page for my first book in the Osprey Wargaming Series, Of Gods and Mortals Mythology Miniatures rules. All copies bought here will be signed unless you want it otherwise. It ships from Italy, the same day it ships from Osprey.

I will annoy you with this preorder page now and then — I know very few people will want to buy in advance, but this page should help me decide how many copies have shipped to Ganesha. Please let me know if you want more info on the preorder page. Thanks!

Preview of Song of Hammer and Forge

Posted: 27th April 2013 by ganeshagames in Song of Blades and Heroes

Song of Hammer and Forge cover preview. Dwarfish enough? I chose not to have dwarves facing the viewer because we already have the cover to TBH like that. Also, the book will have some stats for typical enemies of the short ones, hence the troll (of the regenerating type).

’61-’65 Company Level American Civil War rules by Sergio Laliscia available on Createspace.

’61-’65 is a fast play, Company-level American Civil War game based on the popular Song of Blades mechanics. Playable with 40-100 miniatures per side in less than two hours, ’61-’65 puts you in command of a Union or Confederate Company, with a Captain and several Lieutenants, Sergeants and Corporals. Send your skirmishers ahead, keep a tight formation and – wait to see the white of your enemy’s eyes before firing your volley!

Three scenarios included, one for each main period of the War (1861-62, 1863, 1864-65);
Simple rules that require decision making and encourage keeping a chain of command;
Playable in any scale, with single based models;
Profiles for Officers, NCOs, skirmishers and enlisted men for each major period;
Easy measuring system, no bookkeeping, minimal amount of markers;
Rules for multiplayer battles and for playing the game as a Song of Drums and Shakos variant with as few as 6 to 15 figures (SDS required);
Optional rules for Cavalry and Artillery;
Quick rules for setting up a table in pickup games;
Sgt. O’Reilly hints on play, formations, combat, and much more….

’61-’65 plays at company level, meaning that a player controls a company (98 men in the game) and one figure is one man. The models move and fight as units of 4-8 men each. Smaller games can be played (with about 50 figures per player) and of course with enough players, large tables, and plenty of time, you can play much larger actions!

Figures as independently based but we suggest using magnetic trays for rank and file to speed up movement. Command figures are on a separate stand containing a leader, a drummer and a flag-bearer.Other leaders are single-based. Skirmishers are represented by two single figures in front of a rank and file unit.

Confusion/disorder in units is represented by turning the disordered figures with their back to the enemy. As corporals rally them back in line, they can recover and be turned back to face the enemy. Casualties are represented by removing figures. Units with less than 4 figures run back to the player’s baseline and can be rallied later.

Swatters, my science fiction, large scale skirmish bug-hunting ruleset is available for $8 as a pdf. As usual, if you see anything strange (typos, something not displaying correctly) send me a message and I’ll have it corrected as soon as possible. A printed version will be available on Amazon later this month. Khurasan miniature will also carry the printed book so you can order it together with the miniatures.
The pdf will also made available through our fine vendors but please be patient, as it’s a huge file (full color, 45-page book plus covers and inksaving version with no images).

DSLB is now available in softcover and hardcover, full color. Also a print + pdf bundle is available. I have received the print proofs from wargamevault and the quality is top notch.

just a few pages to show you what the Song of Spear and Shield book might look like. We are still working on it and the text is unedited. Any criticism appreciated.
As usual, the book will be available as a PDF, inksaving pdf, and full color paperback of around 60 pages.

If you plan to play a RPG session or two during the festive season, check out our new adventure for Tales of Blades and Heroes:

Vengeance From The Grave, a TBH RPG adventure is available in PDF. A paperback version will be available soon.

$3.99 for a 21+ page pdf which should give you 5-6 sessions of dungeon crawling. The plot is pretty linear and old-school. I can’t really comment much without spoiling it… check it out.

Drums and Shakos Large Battles hardback soon available

Soon the full color, hardback version of Drums and Shakos Large Battles will be available on Wargamevault. Here’s a pic of my proof copy:

A softcover version will be made available at the same time. Both will ship from the US so expect the shipping to be much cheaper than shipping from Italy.

Back From Lucca Comics and Games

Posted: 7th November 2012 by ganeshagames in Uncategorized

I am still unpacking from Lucca, I had a great time and a great show. Many thanks to Lorenzo Sartori of Dadi & Piombo magazine for inviting me in the wargaming area. I didn’t manage to meet all the people I was supposed to meet but it was great. Now my head is full of ideas and projects, I have a ton of stuff to read, and I’m behind on all accounts (especially in sending out royalties to authors – hang on there, I will send them between tonight and tomorrow).

I wanted to upload pics live from the show but there were so many people (at least 160.000) that the mobile connection went down more often than not. Massimo Moscarelli took some pics and I’ll repost them as soon as he sends them to me.

We sold a lot of revised Sbh and ran out of Zen Garden (I only have two copies left at the Ganesha Headquarters) and we are already planning a similar, entry level, grab-and play “wargame disguised as a boardgame” for the next conventions.

Gotta go back to work now…

Deepwars PDF available on Ganesha Games

Posted: 30th October 2012 by ganeshagames in Uncategorized

Deepwars is available as a full color PDF.

DeepWars is a 28mm scale tabletop wargame set in an alternate history of Earth where fortune seekers, scientists and adventurers have discovered a lost land with an underground sea miles beneath the frozen surface of the southernmost continent.

DeepWars is set in the world of AntimatterGames’ existing game, ShadowSea, but is meant to be a stand-alone product and is focused on adventure and battle scenarios on the bottom of the Sunless Sea. The game will have multiple types of scenarios, including exploration of wrecks on the seafloor, adventures in ancient cities of cyclopean structures, battles among fields of geothermal chimneys, submarine boarding and others. Adventures within flooded tunnels inside wrecked ships or crumbing cities may be played with “tiles” to represent stretches of passage and chambers, while games in open environments are played with scenic terrain pieces on the tabletop. Miniatures will be cast in high-quality resin and while metal. Resin “swim” or “flight” stands with adapters for the different base sizes (30,40,50 mm) are in production to allow models to fight at different depth levels, adding a unique flavor to combat.

FEATURES
Intense combat in the abyssal depths of the Sea. Breach submarines, uncover undersea temples, and dodge torpedoes while recovering artifacts that hold the secrets of the ethereal void.
Combination of 28mm scale miniature tabletop wargame with campaign advancement and a role-playing flavor. The game can be played in single sessions of an hour, or as a campaign where warbands salvage ancient technology, design their own new tech items, enhance abilities and generally become powerful lords of the deep.

Miniature starter sets are available for each of four main forces, Fortune Hunters, Dark Mariners, Ancients of Atalán and the Scaly Horde. Sets include five miniatures with stat cards and a downloadable rule book. Also available are terrain kits, printed game maps and full-color art prints

The rules are based on the award-winning Song of Blades and Heroes by Ganesha Games but with extensive additional rules, weapons, armor, technology items (akin to magic items) and new combat and movement options. Almost all models are capable of swimming or movement through the water column, which gives the game a distinct three-dimensional feel when flight stands and base adaptors are used. Rules are included for movement across depth “levels”, where hasty changes in depth can cause deadly barotrauma. There are also rules for the effects of variable visibility and light levels and for models that can easily navigate through the darkness using echolocation.
Extensive list of ether tech weapons and items and multiple magical spell types, including elemental magic that causes hydrothermal eruptions, dimensional magic that allows unsavory spellcasters to call forth beings from the ethereal void, psychic magic to enslave the minds of victims and protection magic to negate the effects of the most vile spells.
This PDF has 160 pages of intense artwork and full statistics for all four main forces
